Known issues are when casting cards that leave the fight screen (e.g. Peek) there might be no text at first. But that will be filled in later. Wizards in now powered by FunkLibrary. Runs like a charm, although it took me quite a while. But the code base is now very shiny, I will include the source when I release the final version someday . Have fun!
Whoa.. i just loaded the TI-OS back onto my calc after having had KnightOS on there for almost a year and all my old programs and apps were still there. Anyway, just loaded Wizards up, i'll give you my thoughts later.
EDIT: It's super addicting! One suggestion/feature request is for a different symbol to show up if you haven't placed all of that card in your deck. For example, if you have 4 Pestilence cards but only have 2 of them currently in your deck. And maybe another one for having 0 of that card in your deck? I'm not sure if it's that important though. I also saw that the AI discarded some cards and just teacher key'd out of the game with Mode trying to find a discard button
I love the terminal/action log thing and as always am super impressed by your interface and how you've used the keys.
Cool, thanks for playing. I think I might instead just put a number indicator in the deck building screen where the little star is right now. If you want to discard a card just wait until your hand is full and the fearsome discard screen will pop up. I think it is better if you can only discard that way.
Ah, ok, so that's why they were discarding. I got that once and thought the screen/layout was really pretty I ran out of the little black spheres so couldn't play anything. The game is really cool, the next time i've got a long train ride i can easily see myself passing my time with Wizards.
Ok, i had about 20 hours of bus rides and lots of time to myself the past couple weeks. I've beaten the first three bosses (though i had to keep count of how much HP the boss had left for the second two bosses on a piece of paper). The third boss, Evolution, took me forever to kill. It seems like they've got a ton of high-damage attack cards. Also, Ambush is super annoying! Though really that's how i beat the third boss, as i used Mastermind to steal the boss' Ambush and then killed them with it
After that i haven't been able to beat any of the new bosses. Today on the bus i finally got to the 4th round (after making a comeback from 1HP vs. the other player's 15HP in the 3rd round!), but of course died.
Btw, one of my new favorite cards is Reminisce. I love using that with those cards that do major damage (eg. Fireball or Grim Claws) or with Contaminate after the enemy just used an antidote.
Also, i think there's a mistake in the description for Fireball. It says "Deals 5 damage to your opponent. Adds 1º" but really it adds 2 spheres. The icon shows that it adds 2 spheres.
Anyway, this game is great and super addicting. But i dunno if i'll ever be able to beat the other three bosses. I wish i could find some more antidotes, though. Being poisoned sucks. I dunno which set of cards to buy to get those, though.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that i am really impressed by the AI, it seems to know how/when to use the cards (at least as well as i do, heh) and doesn't just randomly play a card.
I'd probably buy random booster packs. But Reminisce is pretty powerful, I like to combine it with the pulses. I think Pandora's Box is one of my favorite cards.
The difficulty might be an issue. I remember changing all enemy decks in the last few commits and they are not very well tested. I could decrease the enemies' health.
The AI is dumb. It plays the "best" cards first from a fixed order, but I added constraints such as only play Anitidote if poisoned. I think it also switched the tactic to play more healing spells when under 10 health.
