PyGame ports of old calc games

As a way to ease my way into Python 3, i started making some ports of my favorite old calc games using PyGame. The first one is Avalanche, by Badja:


I think my next project will be Blockdude.

Awesome. I wonder if you also plan to port more obscure titles that might not exist in computer versions, such as Supersonic Ball, The Verdante Forest, GlassCars, Desolate, etc?

I started working on BomberKidz, but got sidetracked with another Python project (a map editor for add and i's RPG, also just built my first website with Django not long ago). But porting over some old calc RPGs would be a great idea as my ultimate goal is to write an RPG of my own.

How's Django? I heard it was somewhat like Ruby on Rails?

Django wasn't as fun as i thought it would be, i kinda thought it'd be like writing PHP code, but it's a lot more structured and uses i believe they're called templates where you basically prepare the data you want and then pass it to the template. Currently in Hong Kong sorting out visa issues so i haven't touched it in a while, but i think it's gonna take me a while to get used to it. For now i like programming with PyGame much better

Have you gotten any luck with your visa issues?

Not quite, i'm currently looking at another visa run to Hong Kong, that is if i can get all the paperwork ready, which i'm not sure i'll be able to do from here. It's been a hectic month and a half or so. I'll definitely be glad once all this is behind me.

I hope that you aren't permanently stuck where you are for life. >.<

Now that would be a bummer.
Much like all the people who wander about "without any papers" that proves that they belong anywhere.
Except you can still go back to the US (more of a question of money) and still have some rights, hopefully.
