Nothing too special, currently just a tilemap/character on the top screen and text on the bottom screen. I could upload the .nds ROM, that'd probably be easier. add can attest to the fact that i suck at C, i kinda feel like this would be easier to write in ASM a lot of times, at least how to structure data. But things are slowly coming together. We've also got a map editor written in Python which lets you edit basic values of individual tiles (whether they are passable and what layer they should be drawn to) as well as add events to specific places on the tilemap. It's a start, but we're getting there :)

EDIT: And the tiles are obviously just placeholders, for now. Drawing color tiles is much harder than black and white...

Chickendude, you don't suck at C, you are just a lot more experienced in using asm.
And even then, at times C is *really* confusing..
I don't find it hard to work with you, I actually find it educational and fun :-)
It's harder to work with git at times :-P

I've been wondering for a while about gadgets (or whatever they are called) for the TI-83+/TI-84+.
Does a microphone-gadget exist for it that goes into the I/O (or USB) port?
I remember back in gymnasium (school) we had a gadget that measured acceleration of a ball dropping or something like that (physics class), so I started wondering if there was a microphone-gadget for it too.

Assuming there are such microphones, the idea is that you would install a program/driver on the calc, give the microphone some sounds/music to pick up, and there would be neat visuals that showed up on the calc when you ran the program/driver/thingy.
I think this would be even more awesome than making a static demo. Something that reacts to sound/music, not just one track, but all it can pick up!

Sure it wouldn't be as pretty as the project my friend is working on for PC (VSXu, @github), but I think it would be a really nice project to work on sometime still..
I think I need to first get better, then finish Chipz80 before I start another project though..
Oh well.

^ Hm, I wonder how one would test this on an emulator..
I don't feel as though it's a good idea to test stuff on the real calc at the first stages. :-/

Hardware hacks/projects for TI calc are pretty cool. Kerm (over at Cemetech) and has a lot of experience with adding sensors to calcs. Maybe he can help?

And there is benryves: http://www.benryves.com/journal/tags/Z80/all

For a while, I was considering making one or more games that occurs in an world where only walruses and live things based on walruses are a thing. However, it requires motivation and time to start such project and I am still unsure if it would be some RPG (Pokéwalrus?), platform-puzzle game, racing game or something else.

Pixel art would not be a problem, since there is a lot of it ready for use for such project. :P

DJ Omnimaga, your avatar as it currently is reminds me of the old Commander Keen games, maybe making a Commander Keen clone would be a fun project? :-P

Wait, commander Keen looked like a walrus? O.o I guess that could be an idea, although given that there are over 100 variations of the walrus in my avatar (even an Internet Explorer icon), I think a Pokémon clone or ROM hack is more likely :P

Nah, I meant an enemy in one of the Commander Keen games, but I think it's really because the eyes are drawn a certain way that it really makes me draw connections between your avatar and Commander Keen (Giant green fish enemy).

Oh right, that might explain it. :P
