Zelda Found!

Post09 October 2015, 06:36

I found these builds a while ago, and I am linking them here. I did not compile, code, create, or upload these. All work to Spencer Putt and possible Buckeyedude.

I think this one is most complete:
http://buckeyedude.s3.amazonaws.com/Zel ... ngeon1.8xk

Boss fight:
http://buckeyedude.s3.amazonaws.com/Zel ... rdboss.8xk

Don't have a computer to test what these are, and I have forgotten exactly how far you can progress. The names should be self explanatory though.
http://buckeyedude.s3.amazonaws.com/Zel ... rdless.8xk
http://buckeyedude.s3.amazonaws.com/Zel ... essnew.8xk
http://buckeyedude.s3.amazonaws.com/Zel ... ungeon.8xk

This is both amazing and awful in a way.
Amazing as we get to see the progress they've made.
Awful because he probably don't want us to see it or at least not spread it (yet or ever)..
Oh well.

Yeah from what I remember, back when Revsoft was on its old server, Zelda got leaked by accident and some people found copies. Then the server shut down and this site came up. I didn't know that any Zelda copy was still available until now.

I guess it's good if the project is dead, though, since we can at least play what Spencer had. It's a shame to see so many projects never published because the author stopped working on them (Portal Nspire comes to mind)

Well, I think this is still worked on. And I've played newer versions I must admit :P

I gave in to temptation and tested the "zeldadungeon1" one.
It felt inspirational to work on something, although I still don't know what (but I still feel like crap).

NanoWar, I had a hunch you had played this or a later version already, and I agree with thinking that he still works on it.
Hence my reasoning why Spencer wouldn't want us to play this.

Sorry Spencer. If you ever see this one post..

Haha nothing to be sorry about. I downloaded everything to see what was in there. Nothing too scary, all pretty out-dated. And honestly, I never saw the outworld, I only tested the first two dungeons.

None of the links work for me... Any hope for a re-upload? I always wanted to play this!

I'll reupload the files if anyone wants it. I also had found a backup of the source code (mid 2013) but it was extremely buggy and appeared to have been from before the builds I found. The only use for me was entering some debug things.

Apparently the links got deleted, so I've reuploaded the files.
